Rehabilitation Instructional Services

  • Orientation and Mobility—this service is used to empower a VR client to safely navigate through one or more identified environments such as safe transfer and travel, techniques to safely navigate streets, using public transportation and other means, and instruction in the use of the telephone and other Assistive Technology for information and emergency procedures.
  • Orientation and Adjustment to Disability Services- this service includes an integrated set of instructions and teaching designed to provide individuals with disabilities or a significant change in their disability the opportunity to learn and develop alternate skills and mechanisms that will assist them in adjusting to living and working with a disability enhancing the likelihood of achieving long-term success in employment.
  • Adaptive Communication Skills Training-this service is focused instruction in American Sign Language (ASL) to assist VR Clients with hearing loss in acquiring vocabulary skills necessary to participate in VR services.
